
Semac Construction, a division of the Semac Group, is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Engineer for a role, dedicated to the Skouries Project in Chalkidiki.
In this position, you will lead and support HSE initiatives on-site, ensuring full compliance with regulations, minimizing risk, and promoting a strong culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor the HSE management system for the Skouries Project site.
Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to ensure compliance with legal, corporate, and client HSE requirements.
Investigate incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions; ensure timely reporting and implementation of corrective actions.
Prepare and deliver HSE training sessions and toolbox talks for site personnel and subcontractors.
Maintain and update all HSE documentation, including site safety plans, method statements, permits, and reports.
Collaborate closely with project managers and site teams to integrate HSE best practices into daily operations.
Serve as the primary contact for HSE matters with clients, authorities, and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Greek citizenship.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Good knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Medior level: Over 3 years of experience in HSE roles within the construction sector.
Senior level: 7+ years of experience with proven leadership in HSE management for large-scale projects.Thorough understanding of national and international HSE legislation, standards, and best practices.
Experience in civil, infrastructure, or industrial construction environments.
Strong communication, leadership, and reporting skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO 45001, ISO 14001) are highly desirable.
Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Willingness to travel and be present on-site in Chalkidiki; valid driver’s license required.
